Library and Resource Centres
Our libraries are welcoming, vibrant, flexible, resource-rich spaces.
Our teacher librarians work with classroom teachers to develop students as critical readers of print and digital formats. These multi-literacies are integral to meeting the challenges of a rapidly changing, globally connected, information-based world.
For Years 5 and 6, the Junior Resource Centre library program extends classroom studies through exploration of related texts to develop students’ information literacy. Engaging students in our literary culture and sharing our ‘love of reading’ is core to our reading program. Author visits and workshops, Book Week, creating book trailers and blogs, The Premier’s Reading Challenge and theatrical excursions are some of the exciting ways our students to connect to ‘the story’ to become passionate readers.
The Senior Resource Centre continues the development of students as readers and as information literate, digital citizens. Reading programs promote reading whilst the teacher librarian collaborates with teachers across all key learning areas in meaningful tasks to develop students as collaborators, creators, problem-solvers and critical thinkers.
